“Financial crises and liberalism: some lessons from history”

Monday 23rd March 2009 (9:30 am – 11:30 am)

“Financial crises lead to public interventions on the grounds of saving money as a public good and limiting systemic risk. Historically, these interventions took many forms, more or less compatible with economic as well as political liberalism. The presentation will use some historical examples in order to better understand what can and must be done by a government dealing with a financial crisis and wanting to preserve a well-functioning financial system in the long run.”

This lecture will be held in English and will take place at the library of CEFRES

3rd floor, Vyšehradská 49, Prague 2
